Sound journey with Catherine Seba

-            3:30 pm - 5:30 pm: ages 4 to 10

*Observation by listening to the environment: on this walk through the alleys of the town, Catherine will guide children to discover in silence the richness of birdsong, the wind in the trees, the rustle of footsteps on the grass.

*Composing from what we've heard: by identifying and understanding the city's sound components, the children are invited to transpose them onto intuitive musical instruments, embroidering the auditory perceptions of each young walker into a fleeting collective composition guided by Catherine.

*Well-being through sound: The activity ends with a sound relaxation session led by the artist.

Each child is accompanied by an adult during the walk. They will then be invited to discover the children's collective production during the workshop.

Please bring comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and outdoor shoes.

-              7.30pm-9.30pm: 14-99 years old

*Meditative practice in the form of a silent night walk: Walk in silence as a group, letting your thoughts lull you to sleep, (re)discovering an environment you frequent during the day, but this time through its nightlife. The walk includes a number of contemplative stops.

*Sound relaxation: You're invited to enjoy a sound relaxation in the form of a gong bath with singing bowls, whose harmonies will be a distant echo of the future carillon.

For relaxation, you'll need a yoga mat, cushions (one for the head and one for the legs, if necessary) and a plaid if you wish to experience this moment lying down. Chairs are also available for those who wish to remain seated.

Please bring comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and outdoor shoes.

Catherine SEBA

Musician, music educator and sound relaxation practitioner.

Graduating in composition and mixed composition from the Royal Conservatory of Liège in 2008, she taught the didactics of musical creativity to future teachers for 11 years. In 2020, just before the pandemic, she enrolled at the Peter Hess Academy® to train as a sonopratician in sound relaxation using the Peter Hess® method, a mind-body method using the influence of sound on the limbic system and the vibrations of instruments on the body to combat stress and muscular tension, but also to reinforce everything that's going well in the recipient.

Since then, she has worked for PECA (Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles), INAMI and ONE, sometimes as an artist, sometimes as a sound therapist.
